Tiger Art Competitions

Tiger - by Jamey age 12

Art is a wonderful tool to instill an appreciation for the beauty of wild tigers in all age-groups. Anyone who draws or paints a picture of this amazing animal will be communicating the value and importance of wild tigers to others.

Save The Tiger Fund has chosen this charismatic animal as a flagship species - which is a charismatic animal that serves as an example to educate people about conservation issues affecting all ecosystems. Tigers are also an umbrella species -  they have a very wide distribution and by protecting tigers, we will save many other plants and animals in Asia.

Why don't you arrange a tiger art competition in your school or tiger club? Here are some criteria that judges might consider:

  • Is the picture well composed with a good focal point?
  • Are the colors well balanced?
  • Is the subject well-chosen and original?
  • Does the picture make good use of light and form or design?
  • Does the picture capture "tigerness"?

We have had many wonderful submissions of pictures painted by people of all ages and walks of life.
